Over the past couple years, because of the "both sidesism" and clear bias towards the convicted felon, I have dropped both my Washington Post and New York Times subscriptions. It is appalling that the mainstream media is ignoring the incoherent rants of the convicted felon, the number of times his name shows up in the recently released Epstein files, the amount of money he has paid to the families of young children that accused him of rape over the years both boys and girls, and his mainstream lies only to basically mud rake President Joe Biden. Biden is not perfect, he is human. Biden rescued our economy from the brink of disaster, helped usher in Covid vaccines, renewed our respect around the globe with how he has navigated the wars in Israel and Ukraine, strengthened NATO, rebuilt our economy from the middle class out, made it easier to file taxes, reduced the cost of insulin and medications for Medicare recipients, actually invested in infrastructure rather than talking about infrastructure week to distract like trump did when people would rise up against something he was doing, made us a world leader again, as well as too many things for me to list here that have helped our country. The mainstream media is so high on their own supply that they are driving the narrative that Biden should step down over a debate performance. Obama had a horrible first debate and no one insisted he step down, he went on to be our President for 8 years and did a great job helping average people.

Recently I also stopped watching MSNBC except for the couple people, like Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell who are not playing this Biden needs to drop out game and whom understand that replacing him is a fantasy if we want to have any chance of beating the convicted felon. The people calling for him to step down are the same ones for the most part that want to put someone else at the top of the ticket by skipping Kamala Harris. They also fail to explain who they think, other than Michel Obama who isn't going to run, that they could put on the ticket that polls better than Biden does against the convicted felon. They fail to talk about how the campaign funds that the Biden/Harris ticket has taken in cannot be used for someone else unless one of them is on the ticket. So anyone that were to try to run would have to start from scratch and in the hole this late in the race. Logistically, replacing Biden at the top of the ticket is just guaranteeing that the convicted felon will become America's first king/dictator. These people also ignore the fact that this narrative about Biden is media and elite driven, the base everyday people still have his support. This is not a narrative driven by the base but rather funded by the right wing.

I now get my news from trusted historians, including Heather Cox Richardson and Timothy Snyder, as well as a few podcasts. I just can't see supporting anyone or any news media that would help destroy our democracy rather than print anything negative about the real threat to this country, the convicted felon. Biden surrounds himself by intelligent, knowledgeable advisors and cabinet members. The convicted felon surrounds himself with convicted felons, sycophants, liars, and criminals. Even if Biden is slowing because of age, I would take him any day of the week because I trust in the people he surrounds himself with. There would be no such guardrails for the country if the convicted felon gets back in our White House.

Thank you once again for a great essay
