When racists can’t change the rules, they put foxes in the henhouses.
In Virginia, they installed Martin Brown, a Black Republican as the state’s Chief Diversity Officer.
He gives speeches saying that diversity equates to victimization.
States aren’t the only ones putting enemies of diversity in positions of power.
Corporations are doing the same.
Uber’s current DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Officer is Bo Young Lee.
Bo Young Lee won’t be Uber’s DEI Officer for much longer.
Why?
Because as part of her “Moving Forward” series on diversity and inclusion, she hosted a panel discussion with women entitled:
“Don’t Call Me Karen”
The event featured a panel of women discussing how to “navigate around the “Karen” persona.”
As one could guess, this event didn’t go over well with People of Color.
Consequently, Uber’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, and its Chief People Officer, Nikki Krishnamurthy, announced that Lee had been placed on leave.
Guess who was one of the women on the panel discussing how horrible it is to be called “Karen?”
Nikki Krisnamurthy, Uber’s Chief People Officer.
You would think that the company’s Chief People Officer would have, should have stopped this woe begotten panel.
Not only did she not stop it, but she also participated in it.
The method that some conservatives are taking to dismantle diversity efforts are clear.
Take People of Color who are willing to be used.
Put them in positions of power over diversity initiatives.
And watch the sabotage commence.
I wonder what contributions Krisnamurthy made to the “Karen” discussion.
We know that to some, “Karen” has become a four-letter word.
Rather than feeling insulted, they should acknowledge the behavior that accompanies the moniker.
