The Missing Link to Hope
The holiday season finds people in different places and different seasons of life.
One thing we all need is hope.
Hope is a survival mechanism that allows us to function when our circumstances are hard.
Whatever we believe in, whatever helps us to imagine a brighter, better future, we must have hope.
Many of us rely on faith to bring us hope.
There are many of us who don’t belong to a faith system and rely on other things to bring comfort and peace.
Whether we are people of faith or not, our efforts to find or maintain hope often fall short.
Fortunately, there is another element of hope that is attainable regardless of faith.
That element of hope is other people.
Hope is not just thoughts or feelings.
Hope is also acts of service.
We give hope when we extend love, grace, and mercy to others.
We give hope when we encourage and support each other.
We give hope when we serve others without expecting to receive something in return.
When we give hope, hope brings other gifts with it.
Hope brings joy.
Hope brings peace.
Be someone’s hope this season.
Then forget about seasons and keep giving hope all year.

Thank you.
