The GOP's Shell Game Campaign
The 2024 Republican campaign is smoke and mirrors.
It has become evident to even casual observers that the former president is mentally incompetent.
His health should also be under more scrutiny, especially since he refuses to release his medical records.
Since his mind and health are gone, why is he the Republican nominee for president?
It is because the party is trying to play three-card monte with American voters, and especially with the former Prez’s faithful followers.
Were he to win the election, God forbid, he will not be able to assume the duties of president.
Imagine him giving an inauguration speech
Imagine him taking the oath of office.
His party knows he can’t assume the presidency.
They know he’s not competent enough to hold office.
That’s why JD Vance was selected to be his vice-presidential running mate.
The powers behind the former president – his older sons Don Jr and Eric, his advisors including conservative media member Tucker Carlson, and a coterie of mega-GOP donors, including Elon Musk and Peter Thiel – all advised him to pick Vance instead of the former president’s personal choice, North Dakota governor Doug Burgum.
They knew that the former president was incapable of holding office.
They knew that his mental and physical state was too fragile.
There are several reasons his candidacy continues.
One is that the national news media, which was preternaturally obsessed with Joe Biden’s age and competency, continues to ignore his behavior, even though every day of the campaign includes a new story of inane and inarticulate musings, and slurring of speech.
The media is so thoroughly ignoring his obvious mental decline that a campaign that would have imploded in years past due to the sheer volume of media scrutiny continues to careen without cessation towards election day.
Second, the Republican Party knew that he would not be able to serve, but that no one else, including Vance, is currently capable of marshalling the GOP faithful to the polls like the former president.
Therefore, Project 2025 was concocted as a blueprint for the party, regardless of the person in the Oval Office.
The right running mate had to be found. Someone who was malleable enough to agree with the former president’s fascist bent, willing to enact Project 2025, and who would serve as dictator-in-waiting.
Enter Vance, once a vigorous critic of the former president who now states that the former president didn’t lose the 2020 election and there was a peaceful transfer of party, regardless of the former president decisively losing the election and January 6.
Whether the 25th Amendment is invoked, or some other scheme is enacted, the plan is not for the former president to be president.
The plan is for JD Vance to become dictator.
The former president doesn’t realize he’s being used.
He’s trying to stay out of jail.
He still thinks he’s in charge.
There’s no way his party would have allowed him to be their standard bearer without having a plan.
That’s why there’s Project 2025.
Everyone knows the former president would want to do things his way. He wouldn’t play by someone else’s rules and use someone else’s plan.
He would want to do things his way.
He figures once he’s in office, he’ll do what he wants to do.
He doesn’t realize that he is being used.
He’s a demented puppet on a string.
An orange figurehead.
Even Vance will not have real power.
The real power will lie in the hands of the people who created Project 2025 and the GOP megadonors who want their taxes cut, and their wealth shielded.
They will be the ones in power.
Not the former president.
And certainly not the American people.
