President Know-Nothing
When the Whig Party collapsed in America in the 1800’s, it was replaced by the Native American Party.
This wasn’t a political party of actual Native Americans, but a nativist political party made up of Protestant descendants from the original Thirteen Colonies.
They were anti-Catholic, anti-Chinese, and very xenophobic.
They gained the nickname the Know-Nothing Party because party members were sworn to secrecy, instructed to respond to questions about their party membership with the answer, “I know nothing.”
Our current president was born a century too late. He would have been a perfect representative of the Know-Nothing Party.
When asked who gave the order to stop supplying Ukraine with military aid, his response was
“I don’t know. You tell me.”
When asked if he could end the fighting in Ukraine, the president, who campaigned on the promise he would find a quick solution to the war responded:
“I don’t know.”
When the president was questioned about using the word “shylock,” a Shakespearean term widely seen as antisemitic, he responded,
“I’ve never heard it that way.”
In May, he was asked if he has to uphold the US Constitution (which he did during the presidential oath he took twice). He replied:
“I don’t know. I’m not, I’m not a lawyer. I don’t know.”
While meeting with African leaders, he commented on the “beautiful English” of Liberia’s president, Joseph Boakai, unaware that Liberia was founded from expatriated American slaves and that the country’s official language is English.
It is so easy to imagine the media carnage if such ineptitude had come from Joe Biden.
Doom and gloom pronouncements, nonstop calls for his resignation, and panels filled with doctors and geriatric experts explaining why his mental state was cause for international concern.
Instead, the media reports his many know-nothings and his blathering statements as if they came from someone safely tucked away at a senior citizen home, not the presumptive “leader of the free world.”
But as has been the case since he first entered the political fray, the president is given every benefit of the doubt.
His ignorance is never up for discussion.
His obvious lack of mental acuity is rarely, if ever, called into question.
The media just merrily rolls along in its coverage of the president and his regime as we ride headlong toward disaster in hell’s handbasket.
Years from now, there will much discussion about why someone with such low intelligence and obvious mental deficiencies was reelected to the presidency.
They will question the mental deficiencies and acuities of those who voted for him.
They will wonder why many considered him worthy of leading America.
By then, any attempt at providing answers will be unsatisfactory.
Many who currently support him will lie on their deathbeds that they ever thought well of him, much less voted for him.
They will deny him more than the three times Peter denied knowing Christ.
They will refuse to own up to their tragic mistake.
But those who are still alive will never forget.
They will not forget those who aided and abetted this horror.
They will remember those who deified him and praised his actions.
They will hold those people accountable.
Let us hope and pray that in those days to come,
When the lamentations are at an end,
When our nation has finally come to its senses,
That our republic will consist of more than ash and cinders.
