Matt Gaetz is a Pedophile
The US House Ethics Report has concluded that Matt Gaetz is unethical and a pedophile.
This is the least surprising revelation since it was discovered that water is wet.
The US media is reporting the sordid details without using the word “pedophile,” which is the latest example of our emasculated fourth estate.
There is no reason to avoid using the word.
This is from a congressional report.
The media doesn’t have to worry about being sued.
He paid thousands of dollars to women for sex or drugs on multiple occasions and once paid a 17-year-old girl for sex.
He was the president-elect’s nominee for Attorney General, the country’s top law enforcement official.
A woman who testified against Gaetz before the panel told the committee that he used ecstasy during a trip to the Bahamas, a trip the report said, “violated the House gift rule.”
As it turns out, Gaetz’s laptop is certainly more likely to have proof of wrongdoing than Hunter Biden’s.
One can only guess at how the president-elect’s right-wing, Christian allies will attempt to spin this situation.
The same cabal that decried a lack of moral leadership during the Clinton administration’s sex scandal is mute and neutered when Republican lawmakers’ sexual peccadillos surface.
This is government of hypocrites, by hypocrites, and for hypocrites.
Gaetz is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the Republican Party and the incoming administration.
He portrays himself as a devout Baptist.
He said the following when discussing dating as a single man in Washington:
"I knew going in how many people had been brought down by sexual missteps in this town, so I set some rules to help me err on the safe side ... no dating your staff members…”
Apparently, his female staff members are not dating material because they aren’t drug pushers, and they are too old to qualify as minors.
His vote was the only one against the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act in 2017. He explained that he voted against the bill due to his beliefs in small government and his faith in the government being adequately equipped to prosecute human trafficking.
He rails against abortion and promoted COVID-19 conspiracy theories.
But like many of the GOP coterie, his public morality and private life are not only at odds, but at war.
The namby-pamby American media, which was so quick to question President Biden’s mental acuity and boldly called for his withdrawal from the presidential campaign won’t be bothered to point out Gaetz’s hypocrisy or call him the “p” word.
P as in pedophile.
The years to come will bring the same type of revelations as those uncovered by Congress against Matt Gaetz.
Will the American media show the same courage and resolve as it did to unseat the Biden candidacy?
Or will it continue to pander and kowtow to the president-elect and his felonious supporters?
