Jake Tapper is a Sign of the Times

CNN reporter Jake Tapper isn’t the whole problem.

He’s merely a symptom of the problem.

His book about former President Biden’s supposed mental decline and a resulting coverup is symptomatic of the fallen state of the American media.

While Tapper supposedly calls Lara Trump to apologize for criticizing her comments about Biden’s mental health, and as he states that the “conspiracy” is “worse than Watergate,” the current White House occupant displays behavior that would result in anyone else being institutionalized.

If any other sitting president behaved in such a fashion, the media headlines would be bellowing for their resignation or calling for their removal via the 25^th Amendment.

The president’s Memorial Day social media post is a perfect example of his mental instability:

“HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL, INCLUDING THE SCUM THAT SPENT THE LAST FOUR YEARS TRYING TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY THROUGH WARPED RADICAL LEFT MINDS, WHO ALLOWED 21,000,000 MILLION PEOPLE TO ILLEGALLY ENTER OUR COUNTRY, MANY OF THEM BEING CRIMINALS AND THE MENTALLY INSANE, THROUGH AN OPEN BORDER THAT ONLY AN INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT WOULD APPROVE, AND THROUGH JUDGES WHO ARE ON A MISSION TO KEEP MURDERERS, DRUG DEALERS, RAPISTS, GANG MEMBERS, AND RELEASED PRISONERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, IN OUR COUNTRY SO THEY CAN ROB, MURDERER, AND RAPE AGAIN — ALL PROTECTED BY THESE USA HATING JUDGES WHO SUFFER FROM AN IDEOLOGY THAT IS SICK, AND VERY DANGEROUS FOR OUR COUNTRY. “HOPEFULLY THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT, AND OTHER GOOD AND COMPASSIONATE JUDGES THROUGHOUT THE LAND, WILL SAVE US FROM THE DECISIONS OF THE MONSTERS WHO WANT OUR COUNTRY TO GO TO HELL. This president has also

· Incited a riot at the US Capitol after losing his first reelection attempt

· Accepted a plane from Qatar to use as Air Force One and for his personal use after his presidency is over

· Said he wants to “reopen, rebuild, and expand” Alcatraz prison

· Stated that he wants to add Canada as the 51^st state

· Said that he wants to annex Greenland even though it’s owned by Denmark

· Uttered too many other insane, mentally unstable comments to list

What other president, regardless of party affiliation and time or place could have done the things he has done, said the things he’s said, and not be the subject of daily calls for their resignation or removal?

While he made mistakes and uttered gaffes as president, President Biden never incited a riot, never accepted extremely questionable personal gifts, and never made provocative comments about annexing sovereign nations or territory owned by sovereign nations.

Yet, numerous national media outlets called for his resignation and said that he was unfit to run for reelection.

The only time the current president was subject to widespread recall was after the January 6 insurrection, when the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and USA Today called for his resignation or his removal from office.

Since then?

The sounds of silence.

But a prominent CNN reporter and a co-writer spend their time detailing a so-called conspiracy to cover up the mental decline of a former president, someone who is no longer seeking office, and far removed from the corridors of power.

There are some who will argue that the Biden situation is newsworthy. They will say that the public needs to know that a US president was mentally unfit for office, and we need to know if there was an organized effort to keep this a secret.

They are correct. It is newsworthy. It is important.

But when measured against everything said and done by the current president, including fomenting a riot, reasonable people can weigh the two situations and quickly determine that they are not the same.

If Biden had committed actions committed by the current White House occupant, it would have been proof of mental instability and necessitated his removal from office.

However psychologically compromised Biden might have been, he didn’t do anything close to what the current president has done.

But the media is relatively silent about his rantings and ravings.

They comment and publish stories about his actions, and rapidly move on to something else, as if it is understood that he is insane, and we have to live with it.

There is no inoculation for his mania, nothing that precludes him from the same judgement that Biden is experiencing, the same judgement that any other White House occupant would receive.

If President Obama had incited a riot, Rupert Murdoch, Sean Hannity, and Tucker Carlson would have personally taken up arms and marched on the White House.

Fox News would have had continual Special Reports declaring the need for everyone, particularly the Democratic Party, to rise up and work towards Obama’s ouster.

If he had accepted a Qatari plane, Laura Ingraham would have spontaneously combusted.

If Obama had suggested taking over Canada, CNN would have impaneled talking heads to discuss the hows and whys and featured government experts who would agree he had lost his marbles and needed to be taken from the White House in a padded van.

But for some ridiculous reason, we are supposed to grin and bear it when this president is not merely buffoonish but speaks and behaves like a despotic lunatic.

Jake Tapper can sell a lot of books.

He can try to convince the world that the Biden administration committed one of the most egregious acts in history.

He can do all of that.

The American media can continue to pay scant attention to what the current president says and does.

Meanwhile, many are watching in horror as America goes down in flames, wondering what it will take for the American media to tell it like it is right now.
