The Republican National Convention has found itself faking shock and dismay at Marjorie Taylor Greene’s and Paul Gosar’s appearance at a White Supremacist conference.
Both politicians appeared at the America First Political Action Conference being held in Orlando.
The conference was organized by Nick Fuentes, a White Supremacist who is also antisemitic, a Christian Nationalist, and anti-women’s suffrage.
The only honest reaction to their attendance at the conference is business as usual.
Both Greene’s and Gosar’s racist and antisemitic beliefs are well documented.
Greene’s belief in “Jewish Space Lasers,” and that Black Lives Matter is “the most dangerous terrorist organization” in America, among other nonsensical philosophies, has deservedly rendered her one of the most divisive members of Congress.
Gosar has established ties to the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers and branded the infamous “Unite The Right” rally as “created by the left.”
Both Greene and Gosar have made statement and/or videos depicting violence against political opponents.
Rather than being Republican outliers as characterized by RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, these two are par for the current GOP course.
The Party traffics in fascism, racism, nativism, and every ugly -ism in the dictionary.
They are only acting naturally for themselves and their party.
They are accurately representing the current Republican Party.
Why should anyone be surprised?
