One of his close friends once said of him, “No, he couldn’t be bought or bossed, but he could be leased.”

For the first time in its history, the United States of America is being bought, bossed, and leased.

This administration has made it perfectly clear that our government and its officials are open for business.

The business of bribery, collusion, and corruption.

The president has accepted a gift of a $400 million airplane from Qatar to serve as Air Force One now, and the president’s personal plane after he’s no longer in office.

He’s selling his own cryptocurrency, among other items such as personally branded teddy bears and chocolate bars.

He is giving salutes to military personnel of Saudi Arabia at the same time he announces an arms deal totaling over $100 million, as well as announcing that the Persian Gulf will be renamed the Gulf of Arabia. Take that, Iran!

The US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, divested herself of millions of dollars of Trump Media stock the day that the president announced new tariffs. The stock dropped like a stone, but Bondi’s well-timed selloff saved her from a financial calamity

Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Georgia (Lord help us local folks) GOP firebrand also made money on insider stock trading, the same thing that caused Martha Stewart to spent time in a nice pokey.

Not coincidentally, the FBI has disbanded one of its public corruption squads in the Washington, DC office. This squad investigates corruption and fraud perpetrated by federal officials and members of Congress.

The administration that promised to drain the swamp has moved into the swamp and is building condominiums on its banks.

Previous Republican administrations like the Grant and Harding administrations were corrupt, but the current one would laugh these previous administrations to scorn because they weren’t greedy enough.

From Harding Teapot Dome scandal, Eisenhower’s Chief of Staff Sherman Adams accepting a vicuna coat and oriental rug from a person being investigated by the FTC, and then Vice President Nixon’s slush fund that led to the infamous Checkers speech, Republican corruption attached to the Oval Office has been well documented.

But the current administration will leave such a lasting stain that one can almost hear the president brag about the extent of the graft.

“We took the biggest bribes, bigger than anyone.”

“Everyone said they had never seen so many payoffs. It was unprecedented.”

What other administration can brag about allowing 17 family members of the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel into the country after “negotiating” with the government?

The same president who keeps talking about countries emptying their jails and sending criminals to America allows drug cartel members to fly to America in style.

Where is that wall and why didn’t it keep them out?

Where are the rabid border patrol officers?

Are the Sinaloans going to be put in cages?

Of course not.

Why?

Because they have paid the going rate.

The administration and its allies line their pockets with pieces of silver while cutting back on healthcare, healthcare research, and safety net policies.

This is graft on an unprecedented scale, and they aren’t trying to hide it.

The Okefenokee Swamp and Florida Everglades have nothing on this administration.
